What to Get your Interiors Loving Friend this Christmas

House of Plants

Now that Halloween and Bonfire Night are over it’s officially OK to mention the C-word. If you’re one of those people who likes to get organised before December then this is the post for you. Here are some interiors gift ideas that will win you major brownie points with your home loving friends this Christmas.

Design books

You can never go wrong with a book, can you? The brand new House of Plants: Living with Succulents, Air Plants and Cacti by Caro Langton and Rose Ray (pictured above) is a gorgeous book for plant lovers. No house is complete without some plant life, and this book will give you some pointers on how to make the most of them. Plus, it looks very pretty on the coffee table so, you know, extra points for that.

For the colour-obsessed it has to be the latest offering from Bright Bazaar’s Will Taylor – Dream Decor: Styling a Cool, Creative and Comfortable Home, Wherever You Live. This is a dreamy book full of stunning styling tips, inspirational photography and colour ideas for every shade.

Plant pots and vases

The Bleu Ceramic Bottle Vase by Habitat (£45) is a great way to add some laid back style to a sideboard or shelf. But if blue isn’t your bag then Habitat has some other great vase offerings this season to suit all colours. Check out this little selection (below) and take your pick:

Cool storage

There is little more satisfying than finding a piece of storage that not only looks great, but doubles up as the most useful piece of homeware in your room. Whether you’ve got young kids and want to find a stylish way to hide their toys at the end of the day, or whether you’re just a collector of lots of stuff, stylish storage is the best way to keep clutter at bay in a family home.

Ratatouille storage basket - Rose in April

These Ratatouille Storage Baskets from Sisters Guild are a bright and colourful way to keep things tidy – and they shouldn’t just need to be limited to the kids’ bedrooms. Ogetto is another great place to find stylish storage baskets – at £20 the Iringa Basket would make a great gift.
