Happy Friday! If you’re in need of a pick-me-up and currently decrying the weather, British politics and the lack of anything happy to shout about at the moment then this post is for you. Fear not, there IS something to look forward to: the AW16 interiors collection from Debenhams. Hooray!
Seriously though, the new collection out in late August / September this year has some seriously on-trend offerings, with sensational designs by internet interiors legend Abigail Ahern and fashion designers Ben De Lisi and Julien Macdonald.
The new collection by Abigail Ahern for Debenhams’ AW16 interiors offering is nothing short of majestic. Like, literally majestic. Her signature eclecticism and outlandish pieces wouldn’t look out of place in a Tim Burton movie – which is why we love them. Nothing is too much, from monkey lights, rhino heads and pom-pom bedazzled cushions. It’s a riot of sumptiously regal colours, bold prints and quirky indulgence.
Equally brilliant is the Ben De Lisi collection. This is bold and colourful but in a less Alice in Wonderland way. The London cityscape print with contrasting orange clashes perfectly with the coral cushion and light. The sunny colours are the perfect antidote to the inevitable miserable weather we’ll be facing come September.
Meanwhile there’s a definite hint of festive charm to this set showcasing the new Julien Macdonald range. The 70s-esque bar cart has had a huge resurgence of late and these gold accessories are the ideal way to ramp up the bling as the metallics twinkle against all that glass. (If, like me, a bar cart is out of the question due to an overly-inquisitive toddler in the house then skip the cart and go straight for a high shelf. As long as there’s booze and pretty twinkly accessories like these then you’re onto a winner.)
Which look is your favourite?
