Kids and stylish interiors…it’s the ultimate dilemma isn’t it?! But that’s what Roost is all about! Showing you how you can achieve the look you want and still be child friendly.
When we were refurbishing our kitchen, we decided to replace our current dining chairs for something more modern and a bit industrial. But when it came to the table, I was already worried for our chunky oak table. We had been so careful of it up until now, it was only used at Christmas really. However it was to be given a new day-to-day life, as we opened up the two rooms into a kitchen/family room.
Parents will already be quite familiar with oil cloth table covers for protecting prized furniture but besides spots or stripes, I couldn’t really see anything that I would be happy having on display everyday. So, I was delighted when Thornback & Peel got in touch with Roost about their new range of screen printed oil cloth fabrics (from £39). Available in a jelly and cake design or rabbit and cabbage, we opted for the latter. My eldest loves animals, so I knew we were onto a winner!
The cloth was perfect at 140cm wide and we ordered enough to ensure an even overhang all the way round. The print up close is just stunning. The grey colouring fits in perfectly with our room and the design will work with our theme, rather than against it.
And well…the table is happy too. Safe from unwanted excess food and spillages.
It’s great to have a stylish solution that I’m not having to hide when not in use.
Many thanks to Thornback & Peel for sending us the sample featured in this post. If you’re looking for a kid-friendly table-saving option which will keep everyone happy then their range comes highly recommended.
