Trends come and go, but the metallic look is one that’s been knocking around the world of interiors for a good 18 months now. Last year it was all about copper. This year, some are eschewing the copper trend in favour of rose gold and gunmetal. But some of us (arguably the least decisive and most fickle) are covering all bases with the “rosy metallics” option.
This style is eclectic, so if you’re all for mixing things up a bit and avoiding anything too matchy matchy then this is for you. Homeware brand Rooi show us how it’s done in the shot above, by mixing up various candles in their range (starting from £4.95) and styling them clustered together alongside some succulents. This would be an easy enough vignette to acheive on a mantelpiece or shelf – or anywhere else that’s high enough to avoid little fingers but low enough to actually see.
Oliver Bonas also get it right with this selection of mixed metallics (metallic votives £15). Set against a dark wall these really stand out and add a sense of drama to the room. Farrow & Ball’s Downpipe would be a good option here.
There are lots of ways you can get this look in your own home for a fraction of the price. Check out our Pinterest board for some DIY metallics projects…
